This is digital. I fly around Google earth looking for spots that I like, take a "snapshot" and then crop it to the part I like. Sometimes I also do some photoshopping. In this case, the image is a little blurrier with some sketching effects. I'd like to do actual paintings with a similar look.

I saw something on Boing Boing about photoshopped Google earth images of scenes from the bible. They're pretty good!
